Terms of Service

1. The service

Guess the Song helps identify music from audio clips. Humming and original-recording recognition use different providers and may not always be available. Results are possible matches, not guarantees of a correct song, artist, recording version or rights ownership.

Recognition depends on audio quality, provider coverage and service availability. We may apply request limits, change features, or temporarily suspend access for maintenance, security or provider interruptions.

2. Eligibility and acceptable use

You must be at least 13 and legally able to agree to these terms, or have a parent or guardian’s permission where required. You agree to use the service lawfully and responsibly.

• Only submit audio you have the right or permission to use, including permission from people you record.
• Do not upload unlawful content, confidential recordings or malicious files.
• Do not bypass usage limits, interfere with security, overload the service or misuse access to third-party providers.
• Do not use results to misrepresent authorship, licensing or ownership of music.

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address abuse or violations of these terms.

3. Your audio and intellectual property

You retain any rights you hold in your submissions. You authorize us to process and transmit your audio to the recognition providers needed to fulfill your request. This permission does not transfer ownership of your audio to us.

Music, artwork, artist names and third-party metadata belong to their respective owners. A recognition result or streaming link does not grant a license to copy, distribute, download or commercially use a song. Our site branding and original content remain protected by applicable intellectual property law.

4. Privacy and third-party services

Our Privacy Policy explains audio processing and privacy choices. Recognition providers and external websites operate under their own terms and policies. External listening links do not imply endorsement of the linked service or its offers.

Guess the Song is an independent website and is not an official Google, Shazam or SoundHound product.

5. Free access and usage limits

Song recognition is currently free. No account, payment or credit purchase is required. Usage limits apply to protect service availability. Matches are not guaranteed; a search may return no match. Automated abuse or attempts to bypass limits may be blocked.

6. Availability and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available, without guarantees of uninterrupted access or recognition accuracy. Verify results before relying on them. We are not responsible for losses caused by reliance on an incorrect match or interruptions outside our reasonable control, to the extent the law permits.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Applicable mandatory laws and remedies continue to apply.

7. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service changes. Revisions will be published here with an updated date, with any additional notice required by applicable law. If you no longer agree, stop using the service.
