Why Guess the Song exists
You hear a chorus you like, but the song ends before you catch its name. Or you remember the melody but none of the words. Guess the Song gives you a place to start with the sound you have and look for a title and artist.
This music finder identifies existing songs. It does not generate new music, turn humming into MIDI, or download tracks from streaming services.
Three ways to find a song
Choose Record when the original music is playing nearby. Choose Upload for a saved audio file, and select whether it contains original music or humming. Choose Hum or sing when you only remember the tune.
Record about 15 seconds of a recognizable section. Uploaded files should be under 10 MB and at least 10 seconds long. The browser prepares a short sample and sends it to a third-party recognition service.
How to use the results
The song recognizer may return a title and artist, several possible matches, or no match. Clear audio and a distinctive melody help, but results also depend on catalog coverage and service availability.
Use any available preview or listening link to compare the result with what you heard. Covers, live performances, and remixes may point to a different version. A possible match is a starting point for checking a tune, not a guarantee of an exact match.
Free recognition without an account
You can record, upload and search without signing in. Song recognition is currently free, including searches that return no match.
No credit packs or subscriptions are required. Usage limits apply; wait a minute before trying again if you reach a limit.
Your audio and privacy
Your browser captures and prepares the sample. When you submit a search, the sample is sent to a third-party recognition service. The app does not permanently store raw search audio; provider processing is subject to its own terms.
